The PPC’s Standing Vice Chairman Tran Hoang Tuan works with Son Ha district

On August 07, Standing Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Tran Hoang Tuan worked with Son Ha district on poverty reduction for people with meritorious services in the district.

Reported by Son Ha District People's Committee, by the end of 2021, the whole district has 6,998 poor households, accounting for 31.32%. In 2022, the district reduced 1,213 poor households; the number of poor households in the whole district hasl decreased to 5,785 households, accounting for 25.48%; in which, the number of poor households who have contributed to the revolution is 110 households, accounting for 1.90% of the total number of poor households.

There are 31 poor households who have contributed to the revolution needs support to build and repair houses; 77 households needs support to build sanitation works; 56 households needs jobs; 51 households requested to support domestic water; 52 households need support means of accessing information.

Son Ha district strives to complete poverty reduction for people with meritorious services by the end of 2023 with the fund of about VND 3.9 billion.

Speaking at the meeting, Standing Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Tran Hoang Tuan praised the Party, government and people of Son Ha district for their efforts to bring Son Ha district out of poverty in the period of 2018 – 2020 following the decision of the Prime Minister.

However, the results of poverty reduction are not stable; the percentage of poor households according to the new standard is still high. Therefore, the district should continue to identify poverty reduction for people with meritorious services as an important, regular and urgent political responsibility in the coming time.

Tuan asked the Son Ha District People's Committee to review and carefully evaluate the criteria for identifying multidimensionally poor households for each poor household whose members are people with meritorious services, then develop plans and solutions suitable to local realities.

The PPC’s Vice Chairman said that the provincial Gratitude Fund will support localities to complete multi-dimensional deprivation indicators for poor households with meritorious services in the district.
