Attending the Workshop on Hanoi side were Mr. Nguyen Van Phong, Deputy Secretary of the City Party Committee; Chu Xuan Dung, Vice Chairman of Hanoi People's Committee. On the international side, there were Ms. Nao Hayashi, representative of the World Heritage Center, in charge of the Asia-Pacific region; Ms. Marie Laure Lavenir, President of the International Council of Monuments and Sites (ICOMOS) - an independent advisory body to the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO); Mr. Christian Manhart, Chief Representative of UNESCO Office in Vietnam…

At the workshop, scientists and delegates assessed that urban archeology is currently facing many difficulties and obstacles in preserving and promoting values. Urban heritage is easily destroyed, the conservation and promotion work encounters many obstacles and limitations due to urban development, infrastructure development such as transportation, restaurants... Therefore, Mr. Emmanuel Cerise, ILE de France Regional Representative, Director of the International Cooperation Agency for Paris Region in Vietnam has suggested the model and planning space for archeological and architectural display for the Imperial Citadel of Thang Long - Ha Hanoi, opportunities for cooperation between Hanoi and the ILE de France Region.

Accordingly, Mr. Emmanuel Cerise has presented a model of the Saint-Denis archaeological site integrated in the urban renovation project, using landscape and urban design to preserve heritage and show historical vestiges. in the past. In addition, the sites of Saint Laurent and the Pastoral College in Aosta (Italy) are an example of the permanent management of urban archeology sites for historical, cultural and touristic purposes. .
